Considering the significant contributions from Dr. Rajan Mahtani via his businesses and philanthropies, it was no doubt that he will be winning one of the awards. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was also the only businessman from Zambia who received the award.

This award was presented for honouring the contributions of Dr. Mahtani towards the Zambian and African nation. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is touted for redefining the banking sector of Zambia with his several ventures and entrepreneurial sprints. His company Mahtani Group is among the most successful conglomerates in Zambia as well as Africa. He is also known for his significant charitable contributions including Prison Fellowship Zambia for the welfare of inmates and providing them criminal justice. He is also known for establishing Stephen Malama award including scholarship for top graduating law student from Zambia.
